Terms of Service

By using this website you agree to our Privacy Policy/Terms of Service.

You must be an adult to use this website.

Please for your own privacy do not post your phone number or address in the body text of your public post. Instead use the geolocator in your post so it can be searched by location but not displayed. There is a built in private message system for chatting with other members here and establishing trust before you share privately. User accept all responsibility for information they choose to enter or share. Please exercise the same caution you would for meeting strangers on a classifieds or meetup style site.

By using this website you agree to not do anything illegal here, including harassment, piracy, solicitation, etc.

This is not a dating site, or a place to post ads, or a way to recruit talent in exchange for “exposure”. This site is for individuals not companies. If you are a company and need workers pay them a fair wage.

This website is for posting things you actually need help with as an individual person and connecting with good Samaritans who can assist locally on the grassroots level.

We reserve the right to refuse anyone access to this website, or update the terms of service as the need arises.

Please report any issues you see or experience.

Who we are

Our website address is:

You can read more about us on the About page.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Our site is based on geolocation. The site will clearly prompt you to allow access to your location which you can allow or deny, and provides a field to type in your address. It is used in the following ways:

  • If you allow the website access to your location for a search it is used to calculate and display nearby requests for help, but your location is not stored.
  • If you instead type in your address it is similarly used to perform a search but not stored.

Request for help

  • If you allow the website access to your location to create a public request for help your GPS coordinates will be stored (but not displayed) with the request so that visitors can find your post by proximity. These can be adjusted by dragging the map marker before you submit the request.
  • If you instead type in your address, it will be similarly stored (but not displayed) with your request so that visitors can find your post by proximity. GPS coordinates will be derived and stored (but not displayed) from the address you enter for purposes of mathematically calculating distance.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Anything you enter into the body and subject of your post is stored and displayed publicly. Please exercise discretion here.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Only what is automatically shared with Google services as described in the cookie section and any common mapping APIs used for geolocation calculations (currently Leaflet / OpenStreetMap).

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Requests for help and private messages are also stored indefinitely

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Fuck around and find out, lol.

Unless you seem to be doing something illegal, we don’t send your data anywhere we didn’t already mention. Map APIs for search and some standard google tracking cookies.
